If you’re looking to break out of reading the same books aloud with your 3rd graders, today’s post is for you. True, you’ll find a few “classics” on this list, but I’m also hoping to gently nudge you into trying some stellar newer books that will appeal just as much or even more to your 3rd grade readers. These are the books that work for independent reading, but are phenomenal as a class read-aloud. They’re engaging, fast-paced, and are packed with learnings that teachers like to impart, such as kindness, empathy, community, and perseverance.<\/p>\n\n\n

He just needs to make sure Mr. Snake doesn\u2019t swallow Mr. Piranha. This hilarious chapter book frequently breaks the fourth wall and is sure to crack up young readers aged<\/strong><\/span> 5-8<\/strong>.<\/p> <\/div>\n\n\n\n
