Still, in creating this list of books for 10-year-olds, I focused on choosing stories with kids around the same age and those with an average subject matter maturity level. All the stories on this list are personal favorites, with some being easier to read than others. I was VERY surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. In time, she learns that she&#8217;s enough and she doesn&#8217;t have to mature at the same pace or in the same way her friends are. She also learns what it really means to be mature. I loved the flow of this story, the short chapters, the nuance, the family dynamics, and that feel of summer on every page.
